Trey's Promotion Award Ceremony

Trey’s award ceremony for his promotion took place on Tuesday, April 28. Sherry, Kennedy, and I drove to Trey’s station to pick him up for the event. Kennedy enjoyed throwing the ping ball to one of the fill in firefighters that day. It was amazing how she turned her flirtation on when she wanted to….striking poses and doing the silly little head tilt. I didn’t realize that started so earlier. We were able to take a few photos at the station before we left. This sign hangs above one of the doors enterting into the firestation. No explanation needed.

The award ceremony was held at the Houston Firefighter Pension and Retirement Center. They have a beautiful tribute outside to firefighters, past and present. These were some of the photos taken out side. Most of the ceremony I spent chasing Kennedy around outside or in the corridor (so that I could hear the speech made by the fire chief, Phil Boriskie). When it counted, Kennedy pulled through and calmed down just enough to go on stage with us. As we went down the line of people to shake their hand, Kennedy did so too. All you could hear in the audience was “ahhh” . I was so proud of her. I had the honor of penning Trey’s new Engine Operators badge on his uniform.

This is a picture of Trey and his friend Chad. Chad grew up in Pleasanton, but lives in San Antonio. When he was on the C Shift Trey and him would meet along I-10 and follow one another in to Houston. For me, it was security knowing there was a small convey of guys traveling together.

This is just a photo we took on the day after Kennedy's birthday before church...found it on the camera so here it is...
