Hoppin Hippo and Concan

Kennedy and I meet Gracie and Melanie at the Hoppin Hippo in Hutto to try out their inside play gym. Gracie liked it a lot better than Kennedy, especially since a little boy was dressed up as spider man going around growling at the kids. Kennedy needless to say was very scared of him. She finally saw the little boy without his mask, but still talks about how Spiderman scared her. We called Trey and the first thing out of her mouth was “Spiderman hurt me!” I told her” Spiderman scared you” and Trey told her to just make a roar at him if he came up to her because that would scare Spiderman away.

Monday, we went to Concan to camp in a tent. Fortunately, for me, Concan wasn’t busy so they were offering the cabins for nearly ½ off. Since, we were only staying a night, we decided that would be the best option. The water was scarce, but in a few deep watering wholes we were able to swim. Clifford, Sherry, and little Allison came an joined us Monday afternoon. Allison rode down the small amount of running water in her clam water float. It was perfect for a kid her size, but not so much for the adults. Later that evening, Trey cooked sausage etc… and we had smores. The fire mesmerized Kennedy, sending her into a long stance as she heated her marshmallow up.

Oliva came over to visit, so Kennedy and her shared the yellow flintstone car.

some stuff

Sunday, August 9, Kennedy and I met Gracie and Melanie at Zilker Park. The girls enjoyed the train ride around the park. When Kennedy got off she said, “That was fun”. Off to the play ground we went and then down to the water to see the dogs splash around. We ended up going to Chili’s to eat, where the girls were so silly together. They walked around outside holding hands and skipping.
When we got home, Trey was arriving back from work after holding over for a guy. We went to church and came back for a nice stroll to the school. Olivia, Leah, and Clifton also walked with us. Once again, the girls ran down the street and then held hands as they walked after being wore out. Where was the camera?

Here she is taking a ride with her cowboots on in her firetruck.

Kennedy loves to swim. Trey mowed the few weeds in the yard and dipped in the blow up pool with Kennedy.

Kennedy thinks it is so much fun to try to cram her little body into this basket. She generally tips over and giggles to only climb right back in. When she was a month old I had taken a picture of her in this same basket. Can barely tell it’s the same kid, she’s grown so much!

The other evening Kennedy woke up screaming because she had a bad dream about a cow. Yes, a cow. When she finally calmed down enough I asked her what happened, she said “Cow, touched me in the barn.” I asked if it was the purple cow from the parade that gave her candy and she said “yes”. The child did not go back to sleep for two hours. She kept saying she was afraid to fall asleep because she didn’t want to dream about the cow. So, I can only imagine the dreams that she will be having after we go to the circus on the 22nd.

Happy Birthday Lynn Hodde and Stacie Tom

Stacie and Lynn both have birthday's in the beginning of August. To celebrate for Lynn's birthday the girls were going to meet for happy hour and then go to Dessau to go dancing. Being pregnant, the food for happy hour sounded appealing, as oppossed to the bar. We had a great time visiting and even got to meet a Jeff, Stacie's friend, the one man daring enough to come and listen to all of us girls. I haven't heard an update on the night, but if the happy hour was any indication of how it went, I know they had fun.
