March 2014

We took Curly to see Daddo at the VA since it seems to be the one thing that he remembers on a regular basis, his dog. It was instant therapy for most of the people in the VA, especially Daddo. He lit up like a little boy when we told him we had brought him to see him.

We also went by and had lunch with Papa. It was a great day visiting the family.
However, Sunday evening was not so wonderful.  Daddo had been sick the night before we arrived at the VA and the nurse said everyone had food poising. WRONG! Melanie and her boys, and Me and the girls all vomited to the point of bile and then were laid up in bed a day from being so weak. They ended up quarantining the VA so no others would get sick. I'm so fortunate that Trey just got a little bit of it at the other end.

I took the girls to Ash Wednesday. Kennedy said we had to go to the San Marcos church because her CCD teacher, Ms. Gloria, said she expected to see each child in church.  The girls did wonderful during mass and when it was time to go get our ashes we all went but August jumped out of our line and had her ashes put on by another person. When I started to walk toward August, the woman said "I'm sorry". I told her no problem, but all we could do was giggle at August's face because the ashes were spread all over.

Every Texas Independence Day the school has "Cowboy Day" where the kids can wear their Cowboy Attire. Here are our little Cowgirls sporting Daddy's bandanas and hats.

We went down to the lake for Spring Break. Trey keeping the girls their Monday- Wednesday while I work. During the weekend, we went up to the hospital in Corpus because Papa had fallen and broken his hip. He is pretty drugged up but has started some of his therapy. The girls were missing Mimi so Trey took them down for the evening. Zack and Kim came over on Monday and helped Trey catch some catfish on the trout line.

Thursday of Spring Break the girls went with Mrs. Zea to the jumpy place and then back to their house for a sleepover. Lilly and Lilah, as well as Connor, and the girls had a great night. In the morning they played and Mrs. Zea surprised them with a trip to the sing-along version of Frozen. The girls had a great time! It freed sometime up for me so I could finish putting August's baby photos in her book.

Mel and the boys came down Saturday night and spent the night. She brought the doggie door we had gotten from Daddo's. Curly thinks he is hot stuff going in and out of it. On Sunday, we meet Dad and Robin out at the Rodeo and saw Dwight Yoakum. The music was so loud that we didn't stay for long. August really wanted to pet the animals and ride the horse so Trey had taken to her to the petting zoo during the rodeo, but we had to return for one more ride with the pony. I love watching her and the love/no fear that she naturally has with the animals.

This was the annual St. Patrick's Day parade at the school. We went and had lunch with the girls.

Kennedy loving on Curly.

This is at the start of the school campout. The girls and I did not stay since I was pregnant. It was a great turnout and the kids had so much fun.

August caught this baby lizard.
