February 2014

Trey and I went to the school to do August’s birthday celebration walk. She did so good walking around the earth while Trey shared stories of some of her accomplishments each year: O to 1: walk, crawl…1 to 2: potty trained, loved climbing into plants playing in the dirt, bit by a lizard… 2 to 3: flew on first airplane to meet Disney princesses, bumped her lip on the fireplace left a scare  3 to 4: she loves climbing tree got stuck up in the tree and had fired department come get her out(this was a bit far stretched). Melody, Beah, and Ellis sat with us at the lunch table. She asked that we take the picture of her sitting in the toilet and pulling a stream of toilet paper everywhere off the board because all the kids were laughing. I had to explain they weren’t laughing at you they were laughing because it was so cute.  Later that day we took her to her 4 year Dr. Apt. She did fabulous. They pricked her finger to check lead levels (she watched) & didn’t even shed a tear when she got to vaccinations. Her weight and height were in proportion to each other, Weight 43 lbs, Height 42 ½.

Laura and Kenneth invited us along to the San Antonio Stock Show to see Kacey Musgraves. Laura's dad, Hal, had given them the boxseat tickets from work. We had a nice time walking around, eating free food, and enjoying a wonderful concert.  Dad came down and watched the girls so we could go attend the concert. He took them to the Lockhart movie theater to watch the kids Lego movie. He said they were the only people in the theater so they were able to act like they had a private showing where they could stand up and dance/sing.

Trey and I worked at the school for a brush clearing day. I offered our home for two moms to watch kiddos at. Kara, one of the moms that volunteered to watch the kiddos, said she was letting the kids eat apples in the living room when she thought; maybe we don’t allow our kids to eat in the living room. Kara asked Kennedy “is it a no, no, to eat in your living room?” Kennedy replied “well, it’s a one no!” Trey is great about having kids eat in the kitchen, where I’m not as consistent with the rule.

August turned 4 years old and we decided to have a birthday party at the Jumpy Place for her (her selection). She had a great time jumping with her friends and seeing her family. Here are some photos of the evening celebration:
