March 2013

The girls and I went to Tyler's baseball game at Anderson High School. They lost the game, but we enjoyed getting to watch him play. Here are some photos of the cousins playing together at the ball field:

Kennedy did her first backward role by herself. When she got home from gymnastic she showed us. Then Trey and I both got to be her partner as we practiced her gymnastic performance dance.  Kennedy was also excited because of the division she was learning at school.
We finally got to meet August’s little friend, Melody, mom & dad. Her mom said that Melody makes things for August and includes Melody in her prayers. We said August does the same. One day when I picked the girls up, I couldn’t help but get the OH how sweet look. August went and hugged Melody, and Melody gave her a kiss on the cheek before she left. Trey exchanged numbers with her father when he met him at the St. Patrick Day parade.

I have an adorable video of August pretending she is reading a couple of the books Tracy got her for her birthday. She even stops while reading to ask Trey how to pronouce a word. Children really do learn by others, it's a good reminder to be a good example.

Mom and Jim watched the girls while Trey and I went to San Antonio for the evening. We meet up with Laura/Kenneth, Kara/Nick, and Melanie/Kirk at Country Store in Helotes where Robert Earl Keen was playing. Trey's captain, Eric and his girlfriend Laquana also showed up. After the concert we went to Cooter Brown's and danced the night away. A fun time was had by all. Here are some photos from the evening:

Trey took the training wheels off of Kennedy's bike. She is still learning, but a couple of times she was able to ride without anyone holding on.

August loves to pop these.

The girls and I went to Half Price books. August kept calling it a library.

This is some of the math work Kennedy has been doing in school.

We met Mel & the kiddos at Zilker Park. They had fun eating ice cream, riding the train, and playing on the play equipment. We even stuck our feet in the water.

The kids looked on intensely as the balloon maker made each of them their own choice of balloons.

August got a lady bug wrist balloon.

On our way to Falfurrias for the weekend. The girls had a great time.

August got her haircut for the first time. She almost fell asleep when she got her hair washed. Kennedy was pretty relaxed too. August got some layers in her hair, and then Ava finished both the girls hair with a pretty braid.

We stopped down in Mathis to mow the yard. Here the girls are giving their dad a hard time.

We took the girls over to the Austin Livestock show so we could attend the rodeo. At the animal exhibits the grand champion animals were up front in their cages. August went and stuck her hand in all of the cages trying to wake up any that were asleep, gently petting them.

The girls were ready to leave by the end of the night. One carnival ride on our way out!

We were going to visit Pawpaw in San Antonio and bring him some homemade Café Vienna. Here is August whipping up some.
