April 2013

Kennedy had come out of gymnastics and told me she didn't want to do it anymore. I knew something had to of happened because when I picked her up from school she was saying how she wanted her friend Erin Avery to come watch her in her performance. Apparently, she was told she needed to start wearing a leotard for safety reasons on the equipment. I tried to have her talked about it, and her teacher said just don't worry about it, come in a shirt/T-shirt.  I told her we could go shopping and she could pick one out, but she still said she didn't want one. During prayers that evening, I had said some and didn't mention anything about gym, just that we each have help overcome our obstacles. Well, August chimed in and said she wanted to say a prayer for "Kennedy and her gymnastic, Erin Avery birthday, mom & dad, and so on." Kennedy eventually said to me, we could go shopping but if she didn't find anything she liked she wasn't going to gymnastic.

Here is a picture of Kennedy and Dylan working on the Noun Farm. I showed the picture ot Kennedy and said "what is the noun farm?" She replied a "person, place, or thing on the farm Mom".

Kennedy had her 6th year birthday walk at school. Trey told stories for each year of her life. Example her 5th year she lost her first tooth, went to Disneyworld, started to ride her bike with training wheels.  I got to read to the class the book she brought from home, The Weinersnitchel recycle book.  Kennedy got to select two of her friends to eat with her at lunch, as well as her little sister. We then left school early for the day.

We surprised Kennedy with a couple of her friends from school coming over one school night for cake & pizza.  Her birthday present from us was a new bike. We let her select the bike which entailed her and August riding bikes around Wal-Mart.  We haven’t taken the training wheels off yet, but will soon.

This is an old photo of my daddo working in the mill. He's riding the forklift(sorry the photo is upside down). This photo was in a book about Temple.

The girls get grab from the money chair.

We took Kennedy to pick out her birthday bike. As you can see the girls enjoyed riding them in the store...sooon no training wheels!

I thought this was a sweet thank you note to August from Kennedy for something she gave her for her birthday.

The girls and I went to Landry’s tag football game.  I had asked Tyler, his older brother, if he was going to go. He said “Well, Mimi, I love football, Landry’s good at football, and he’s my little brother. Yes, I’m going to the game.”  Tyler would pace the field keeping up with Landry’s every move. Landry ended up making a touchdown that day and the cheers from his family could be heard for miles.

Kennedy went with Connor to see the play Pippi Longstocking.  They had the best time, repeating different lines from the play like “Math is boring and children can be so unruly.”  The kids both giggled and said,” Math isn’t boring!” Kennedy has been watching old shows of Pippi. We even tried sending her to school one day with Pipi hair.

The girls and I went to Cabella's to meet my longtime friend Dana and her family. It was so wonderful getting to get caught up with her. Here are the girls finding some things they like:
