A visit with Mrs. Turner

Today, we went and had lunch with Mrs. Turner in Seguin. We ate at a new Italian restaurant that Mrs. Turner loves, which proved to be excellent by looking at the spaghetti sauce on Kennedy’s dress. Afterwards, we went back to Mrs. Turner’s to visit and enjoy the view of the Guadalupe River. We miss having her living down the street. When her husband was alive, Trey and Sugar would go over to their home in Lockhart to hang out and Mrs. Turner would always cook Trey up something special. The scenery at her home is so pretty, that I couldn’t resist taking some photos of Kennedy. Sorry for the overload!

Is Kennedy going to follow in her daddy’s footsteps and become a firefighter?

Happy Birthday Donna Glover!

Melanie and I took mom to Wildfire Restaurant today to celebrate her 58th birthday. Her actual birthday was on Sunday, September 28, but with all of our hectic schedules these days lunch time was all that would work. It had been such a long time that just us girls were able to sit down and visit with one another. Hope the rest of your day is wonderful, Mom!

Lockhart vs Gregory Portland

Sherry, Kennedy, and I attended the Lockhart vs Gregory Portland game on Friday, September 26. Trey's cousin Ashleigh is a cheerleader for the school and her boyfriend, Travis, plays swinger/and some other football position. We were able to visit with Ashleigh's mom, Sharon, and her sister Valerie. Her uncle, Dave, and his two boys, Cody and Jake also attended. Kennedy liked it when she got whisked away by Ashleigh, but she wasn't too sure of Travis in that uniform.

Kennedy loved the football game. She clapped and occasionally hollered out some words. When I was taking the photo of her sitting by herself in the stands, clapping her hands and soaking all the entertainment in, I realized just how big my little girl has become. I know I'll turn around and the next thing you know Trey and I will be attending her high school football games. I'm trying to learn to cherish the moments that she still lets me hold her, that she wants to hold my hand when I walk with her, gives me kisses and hugs in public without being embarrassed, lets me hold her so she can fall asleep, wants to sit in my lap and us turn the lights off so we can see the moon and stars that her little turtle projects on the wall, still turns for us for advice or approval, and so on and on...

Oh...the final score Lockhart 13..GP 23

Grocery shopping

I thought this was too cute not to share. Kennedy put some of her stuffed animals into her shopping cart that she loves to push around the house. I love the way she arranged them.

Honey turns 80!

Trey's grandmother, Honey, turned 80 on September 19. We celebrated on the 20th at Kings Inn Restaurant.

Trey's cousin, Ryan, was participating in a roping. So after lunch, we stopped by to watch. Although, Ryan didn't win this time, he was a winner in our hearts. Kennedy liked sucking on the fence while we watched in the stands.

After church, the family generally meets at DQ for dinner or a snack. We brought cake to celebrate Sherry's birthday and cousin Leona's birthday as well as Honey's. Laura and I liked that our husbands were the ones that cut the cake so we could serve it to everyone.

Kennedy didn't really want to sit still in the DQ, she wanted to run around. Below is a Trey chasing her around the DQ. Another one of the cousins little boy, Brenden, was also there. Kennedy and him liked hitting some of the advertising signs DQ had displayed. I'm sure the employees were happy to see us leave.

A day of fun....

Today we went over to Leah and Clifton's house, our neighbors,so Kennedy could play with Olivia(their daughter). Kennedy was so excited in the morning when I told her she was going to go play with Olivia. She started to push the stroller out the door. When we arrived at their home she ran up to their two dogs and loved on them. The family was still eating breakfast when we arrived and the first thing Kennedy did when we sat down to visit was signed "play". I believe Kennedy liked playing in the sandbox and getting to use the water hose in the pool the most.

In the afternoon, we went over to Donna and Jim's (aka Nanna and Powpo-Kim's mom and step dad) so they could visit with Kennedy while Kim went and ran with Kim Hill. Kennedy loved throwing
golf balls to Domino(their dog),playing with a kids stethoscope, and loving on her grandparents.

Washable Markers

The other evening Kennedy decided she would paint herself with some washable markers instead of actually using paper. She didn't get to messy, but it made Trey and I laugh because she was so proud of herself.

Happy Birthday Robin and Bill!

Friday night the Dodson Family, meet Nanny and Papaw Glover, and Kim's dad and step mom at the Stagecoach Restaurant to celebrate Robin and Bill's birthday. Robin's birthday was actually on September 2 and Bill's on the 12Th. The food was delicious and the company was superb.

I love this photo of Trey giving his daughter a kiss on the covered wagon. Thankfully, we have better means of transportation these days...

Here are a few more photos from the evening of September 12:

When we arrived at Nanny and Papawa's house, Kennedy wanted to finish the evening off by entertaing us with a few notes played on the piano.Who knows she could be our next Bethoven!

Nanny reading Kennedy a bedtime story... while Kennedy feels her belly button!

We met Kim's sister, Melanie, and two of her boys at their dad's house on Sunday, Sept 14. Melanie had returned from a trip from Italy with some goodies for us. She brought back Kennedy a pink rosary, Kim a silk scarf, and Trey a book on how to use sign language in Italian. Thanks Mel for the gifts and we are glad you made it back safely.

Landry, Joseph, and Kennedy got the pool noodles out and began hitting each other with them. You can tell they had a great time doing this!

Kennedy loves ......

The other evening I was downloading some photos onto the computer, it suddenly got quite so I turned my head and saw that our darling daughter had climbed up onto the coffee table. She knew she shouldn't of been up there because when I turned my head she gave me a smirk and picked up a book to read. Watch out Mt. Everest!

Another one of Kennedy's favorite things to do right now is to play in any vehicle, but I would say she prefers trucks. I thought this was a cute picture of her playing in Old Blue(Trey's Mazda pickup) that has unfortunately bit the dust. I think Kennedy will miss the truck as much as Trey.

Sherry Boerjan turn's 60!

Sherry(Trey's mom) enters into the ripe old age of 60! I didn't get any cake shots, but there are a few pictures of the birthday girl with two of her grand kids, Kylie and Kennedy. Deanna(Sherry's old roommate) and Janet/Gretchen Ellison came over to help celebrate the big day.

Kennedy didn't know what to think of Sherry holding this little baby...she would go up to Sherry with both palms up and would open/close them to signal she wanted to be picked up. She finally warmed up to the idea of Kylie and gave her kisses and patted her hair. Here is Sherry and Kylie(5 Months).

Sherry, Kylie, and Kennedy in the rocking chair.

Trey and I were in the process of changing Kennedy's diaper, but she decided to keep rolling back and forth. We finally just gave up and allowed the little one to roam diaper free. Well, she got up on Sherry's lap to eat cake and ice cream and yep...she pee peed on her. Janet thought it would be smart to put a pad under Kennedy to soak everything up.

I should of really posted this photo of Kennedy pushing the cooler around the house with two, five pound bags of ice in it, in her "favorite things" to do right now. She loves pushing anything she can get her hands on. If we go to the grocery store she loves to walk behind the cart and push it. Along, with anything else that has wheels(like her stroller) or that does not have wheels. This is how she kept herself entertained at Laura and Kenneth's house.
