January 2014

Kennedy lost her first front tooth. This was my first tooth to ever pull, although I didn't really have to do much except put a tissue in her mouth.  When discussing what the tooth fairy brings to little kids, Kennedy said she'd like $2 and August said more like $1000.  The tooth fairy delivered some new Cavity fighting toothpaste and $2.

August and her friend Lilah practicing the animals of North America.

Melanie came over and took some pictures of the girls & Curly.

After school the girls love to go get some frozen yogurt from the yogurt shop.

Trey and I met Rhonda and Carley in New Braunfels for lunch. Kennedy posed outside one of the shops below.

The girls were full of sand by the time we were ready to leave the restaurant. I love restaurants that have play areas for the kids to enjoy. A big thank you goes out to Rhonda for giving me her old baby swing for the new baby.

Mrs. Zea took the kids to the new Children's museum in Austin. They all look like natural musicians!

This winter has brought some very cold weather to Texas. We had a lot of sleet in Lockhart, but not much snow at all. Here are the girls on one of their delayed starts finding any sign of white stuff to play with.

Playing out in the cold, but the tent helped keep them a little warm.

Preface

I always like to preface our family memory books with a song or a poem that speaks the words that we hope as parents we have integrated into our children’s lives.  Since, the birth of Alexis Lee in 2014 finding the time to dedicate to tackle our family books is finally coming to terms several years later.  Please forgive the writing, inconsistency in timeline, and possibly repetitive pictures. As I’m growing older, I’ve learned that sometimes you have to be content and move on to the next project. Kiddos, I hope I did some justice peace milling these past year’s photos and memories of special events together.  Remember to always be humble and kind- Love Mom & Dad

Humble And Kind by Tim McGraw

You know there's a light that glows by the front door
Don't forget the key's under the mat
Childhood stars shine, always stay humble and kind
Go to church 'cause your momma says to
Visit grandpa every chance that you can
It won't be wasted time
Always stay humble and kind

Hold the door, say please, say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When the dreams you're dreaming' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind

Don't expect a free ride from no one
Don't hold a grudge or a chip and here's why
Bitterness keeps you from flying'
Always stay humble and kind
Know the difference between sleeping with someone
And sleeping with someone you love
"I love you" ain't no pick up line so
Always stay humble and kind

Hold the door, say please, say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When those dreams you're dreaming' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind

When it's hot, eat a root beer popsicle
Shut off the AC and roll the windows down
Let that summer sun shine
Always stay humble and kind
Don't take for granted the love this life gives you
When you get where you're going
Don't forget turn back around
And help the next one in line
Always stay humble and kind
