First day of Music class

We attended our first day of music class today in Lockhart. I felt so bad for Trey because he was the only male amongst 11 other ladies. He was quite a sport, singing a long, dancing, and playing with the instruments. There were several times that we both smirked at one another with the look of what in the world were we doing there. However, Kennedy loved it. I look forward to the weeks ahead when she is more comfortable and knows more of the movements and words. One of the things I liked was a song about leaves that we sung using scarves to throw up in the air to act like leaves were falling upon us. The singing teacher is from Germany so she sang some songs in German. One of the stories she told about living in Germany was how they celebrate St. Nicholas Day on December 6. The evening of the 5th, I believe, children would clean their shoes and put them outside the door at night. In the moring you would go outside and see what St. Nick left in them. If you were good a toy would be in there, and if you were bad you would have switches. At the end of class Trey and I went up to Petra, the music teacher, to thank her. Well, as it turns out when Trey was a child living in Germany they celebrated St. Nicholas day and Aimee and him both received switches in their shoes. Does that surprise anyone?
