I started to sneeze and August said to me "God Bless you mama".Something else that August likes to do is act like she is sleeping and snoring. So, she'll lay there and squeezes her eyes tights and then you hear her go into her loud snorring sound. She must of learned that snoring sound from her dad.
I wish I could also capture August's look when she glares at you out of the corner of her eyes with a big smirk. She is quite the little character. She has mastered going to the bathroom on the toilet. We still put her in a diaper at bedtime, but for the most part she is dry when she wakes up(this is more for mom and dad so they don't have to clean sheets). For the longest time getting her to wear panties has been a chore, but lately she will wear them with pride. She makes sure when she is gong potty to tell you to shut the door and leave. She hollars at you to come in and wipe, although she is very independant and will do this a lot of the times. When she uses number 2, the whole world knows. She'll run through the house telling us to come look cause she "pooohed". We go and look and tell her what a great job she did.
Kennedy had her year end graduation. She was so proper when she walked the line around the center of the kids. She will remain in the same classroom for next year, since the ages are 3-5 and will go to the lower elemenary room when she turns 6. Her school is out for the month of July, then resumes in August. I'm glad we are keeping her at the school. I can't wait to see what she learns this year.
Last day of swim we can go watch what the girls have learned. Once, again I had to miss due to work, but Trey took photos and filmed for me. Here are photos of Kennedy and Eric swimming. Guess, Trey didn't take any still photos of August swiming, just videos.
I did it! |
Before swimming one day, August put this hat on and was ready to go.... |
This is a little German outfit, Sherry had given Kennedy to wear that Sherry had held onto since her kids were young. |
Mom was going to watch the girls for me while I worked, that meant leaving the night before work to stay her house. Trey had to return to work the next day so he stayed at home. When he got to work I talked to him and he said how he had awful sleep. He said the house was to quiet so he tossed and turned a lot. I told him that is exactly how I feel when he takes the girls overnight. It’s amazing how just having their bodies in their beds can provide some form of comfort to you as a parent. It’s times like these that I always wonder what in the world did I do before kids?
For Father’s Day, Trey and I meet Dad, Robin, and Papaw at the Stagecoach Inn for lunch. We had a nice visit, despite me dropping my phone and shattering the screen. We walked down to the river near the restaurant and stuck our feet in. It felt so refreshing after dealing with the high temperatures. Here are some pictures from the visit:
We went to the Putska's after Salado. The girls had fun riding on their golf cart.
This is a photo of Mel and Kennedy one day when Mel took Kennedy and August to watch butterflies.
On Sunday-actual Father’s Day, the girls and I made Trey and pancake breakfast. We also let him sleep until he woke up on his own. The girls enjoyed giving him their presents of a new bird feeder and a shirt with their handprints. Trey wanted to go try out the San Marcos River in Martindale. Despite the swift current the girls had fun. Kennedy did well with her lifevest trying to float the rapids. Trey was teaching her how to put your feet down and move your body when your floating.

Kennedy was riding in the Chisolm Trail Roundup parade with her school. Dad, Robin, and the boys came down to cheer Kennedy on. Despite stepping in dog pooh along the route, we had a nice time. |

We went to Schliterbahn and stayed the night. Laura and her family go annually so we met up with them. Trey's sister Aimee and her family also were there. Mimi and Kirk came for the day. The girls had a great time splashing in the water. We went to the other side of the park on Sunday and enjoyed the lazy river. I'm looking forward to when we can ride some of the bigger rides. Here is the girls with Trey outside of the park.
You can't see him, but Trey is a speck uptop of this ride. |

We met Laura and Kenneth in Utopia to go swimming in the Sabinal River. We really had a great time despite the storm that came. Such a small world, we ran into our friend Mandy Adams from Lockhart their. Her dad owns a place on the river and they were having a family reunion.
Girls having fun and jumping on their daddy's. |
We went and visited Papawa at the Assisted living. Kennedy picked a flower outside and gave it to him. The girls had a good time playing, especially hiding in the bedroom closet.
Papawa hands out some Chocolate We went to the Ellison's place they were renting in Rockport on the 4th. Here we are swimming. |
